These are a few of my photographs that I submitted for a project during the spring term of my junior year. It depicted my advanetures around the city. The first one is a rooftop picture taken in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The second is a picture from a music festival called Gov Ball that was held in 2017. A common theme amongst these pictures are that I am always around large groups of people and feel the most at home when im exploring the city. The third picture is one of my favorites, it was taken at the University of Texas at Austin. The fourth was also at the music festival Gov Ball, one of my favorite artists Lil Uzi Vert performed that year and I got really close to the front. I felt liberated in that moment, completely stress-free and as a result I took a picture in celebration of that memorable moment. The fifth was taken at lower manhattan at St Marks Place. Ever since going to school on the lower east side I was introduced to a new part of the city that was full of night life. One of my favorite activities is to explore the city at night with my friends and discovering new places. The sixth picture was taken at the vinyl section in Urban Outfitters. The neon sign and color patterns made it impossible for me not to take a candid of my friend in front of the vinyls. The seventh picture was taken on my trip to Texas. It was after my mountain hike and the view was breathtaking to me. The small details such as the mountain-line, countryside, and small boats by the docks gave me a peaceful feeling associated with the photograph. The ninth picture was also taken at the University of Texas at Austin while I was walking around campus. The sky turned this bright red that i've neevr seen before while living in New York City. The clouds were reflecting the bright-red sunset and the color contrast between the grey clouds and tangerine reflection was something I have neevr seen before. Finally, we move on to the tenth picture. This was a donut shop in Austin called Voodoo Donuts and the interior was like a circus. The bright pink practically slapped me in the face and the smell was heavenly. I have never seen something so bright and colorful mid-day so on instinct I snapped a picture of the scene. Everytime I look at these photos I am brough back to a special time in my life. A time where I felt at peace and balanced with my course in life. Thinking about these stress-free times help me a lot during finals or difficult assignments. I cannot wait to go out again once quarantine is over to make some more memories.
